Joseph Weissbuch, LAC

Joseph is a Bay Area native, born and raised in San Anselmo. He holds a Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley. He is currently working on his doctoral thesis on treating post-covid syndrome with integrative medicine, which he will complete in 2023. Joseph is currently studying herbal medicine and formulations, and Shen Hammer pulse diagnosis. As an acupuncturist, he blends traditional forms of Chinese diagnostic techniques with gentle, direct palpation of the acupuncture points, to get both an objective and intuitive diagnosis of his patients.

Having both parents involved in traditional eastern medicine, Joseph grew up taking herbal tinctures and formulas as his primary treatment for illness. Joseph has a practice in bodywork, with almost 10 years of experience, specializing in acupressure, deep tissue and Swedish massage. He believes the most important aspect of healing in our society of perpetual stress, is relaxation. In addition to Chinese medicine, he enjoys practicing martial arts, singing, and playing baseball.

Joseph is glad to be part of the team at Root and Stem and is excited to work with the Oakland community.
