A THOUGHTFUL PLACE TO BEGIN
Perimenopause Care That Starts With Listening
Perimenopause is the transition leading up to menopause. During this time, ovarian hormone production becomes less predictable, and periods may become shorter, longer, heavier, lighter, or more irregular. Some people notice only subtle changes. Others experience symptoms that interfere with work, sleep, exercise, relationships, or everyday comfort.
Because each experience is different, we begin by listening to what has changed, how long it has been happening, what you have already tried, and what you want help with now.
SYMPTOMS WE COMMONLY SUPPORT
Your experience is personal. Your care should be, too.
Your treatment plan may focus on one main concern or several symptoms that overlap and affect one another.
Hot flashes and night sweats
Sleep disruption and waking during the night
Irregular or changing menstrual cycles
Mood changes, irritability, or feeling unsettled
Brain fog, reduced focus, or forgetfulness
Fatigue and changes in daily energy
Headaches, muscle tension, or increased stress
Digestive changes and shifts in appetite
COMPLEMENTARY CARE
How Acupuncture Fits Into Perimenopause Care
Acupuncture is a complementary option that some patients use to support comfort and quality of life during the menopause transition. Sessions may be designed around hot flashes, night sweats, sleep, mood, stress, headaches, digestive symptoms, or muscle tension.
Dr. Jessica Parker selects points according to your current symptoms and Traditional Chinese Medicine assessment. Your plan can change over time as your cycle and symptoms change.
Research is mixed. We present acupuncture as supportive care-not a guaranteed cure or a replacement for established medical treatment.
PERSONALIZED FROM THE START
What Your Treatment Plan May Include
Each visit is shaped by your symptoms, health history, preferences, and response to care.
-
A Detailed First Visit
We discuss your menstrual cycle, sleep, stress, digestion, medications, supplements, health history, and current medical care. This helps us understand the whole picture and identify priorities.
-
Personalized Acupuncture Sessions
Many plans begin with regular visits so we can observe how symptoms respond. Frequency and duration vary, progress and preferences guide the plan.
-
Chinese Herbal Medicine When Appropriate
Herbs may be discussed as an optional part of care after reviewing medications, supplements, health history, treatment goals, and possible interactions.
Care That Works Alongside Your Medical Team
Acupuncture does not require you to stop hormone therapy, nonhormonal medication, psychotherapy, nutrition care, or other treatment recommended by your licensed medical provider. We support a coordinated approach and encourage you to keep every clinician informed.
Perimenopause symptoms can overlap with thyroid conditions, anemia, pregnancy, medication effects, sleep disorders, and other concerns. Appropriate medical assessment helps make sure important causes are not overlooked.
